Changed to Saturday based on improved weather and partner with another group.
A Fit & Fast peak bagging day, with three beautiful Chilliwack Valley scrambles
Stewart, Baby Munday North, and Knight in one day is not a walk in the park. Expect nothing above class 3 in the scrambly bits as we aim for an efficient and brisk alpine loop, getting up Stewart, then Munday, then Knight. GPS route will be provided. Rain is expected Friday, and so expect some muddy parts on the steep trail. Spare car shoes & clothes might be a good choice.
We can save about 80 mins, ~7.5 kms (return) of distance and nearly 600m of gain on Airplane Creek FSR if someone has a 4x4 (or a capable 2wd for which you have little regard! lol). Assuming a participant has a 4x4, expect about 15 kms return and nearly 1,800m gain over +8 hours.
Again, this will need to be a fast-paced day to accomplish all three peaks in time so I don't miss the new episode of cake wars.
Hardy and very fit scramblers will enjoy the challenge. If you're not sure about being fit or fast enough, feel free to give me a ring; happy to discuss - its best to ensure a good fit beforehand for everyone's comfort and enjoyment. If your Grind time (or 10 km run time) is consistently <60 minutes, you're fine. You'll also want to be comfortable with some exposure as there is a good deal of scramblin'
Though I'm organizing, all participants should be able to lead. Please be researched and experienced enough to confidently helm the group, and of course, to be responsible for your own safety.
Bring a helmet, a 'can do' attitude, and lots of energy!
Apologies for the late posting - system glitches prevented this showing up sooner.
Thanks for your interest!
