Saturday to Wednesday Watersprite Lake Hut-based Trail Work Party
Fly in and out without charge and with the option for people to walk out, if they choose. The cost of the flights and cabin fees will be paid by the BCMC project.
The work Itinerary:
Upper Trail
- Improve upper boardwalk, stairs and cribbing
- Install two small outstanding boardwalk segments
- Re-route, grub, brush and flag the last nasty section of the trail at KM 7.8
Watersprite Lake Campsite Trail
- The boulder field from Cabin to Tent Platforms on opposite side of lake requires some work to parts of the route that were under snow last year.
Cabin Upgrades
- Empty Cabin Basement
- Line basement and install solar ventilation system
Crawford Hut Tenure Survey Visit
- On Wednesday, some of us will visit the site of the proposed Crawford Creek hut to gather additional information.
- Signage will also be installed on the ridge above the lake.

People will need to supply their own work gloves, eye protection, hearing protection and steel-toed boots (recommended for work in rock slide), helmet (recommended).
Driver's fuel costs will be reimbursed by the BCMC project based on actual vehicle fuel consumption. Plus cost for any flat tires to be repaired. Plus cost of tires destroyed as a result of nail or other embedded object (pro-rated for wear). Driver's may charge passengers extra for wear and tear etc.
