9am @ St Davids Church in West Van (off Taylor Way)
Get out for a springtime lower elevation hike on the Sigurd Creek Trail, North West of Squamish and be back in town in time for evening plans or chores.
We'll be doing this trail 103 Hikes style - just to the 2nd viewpoint with a possible side trip to Crooked Falls on return as it's waterfall season. A casual sunny Sunday jaunt.
This steep trail goes through the Sigurd Creek Valley, leading to Crooked Falls and two viewpoints beyond the falls. The second viewpoint (a knoll) will be the turn around point with a lunch/snack break.
Meeting Spot: St Davids Church in West Van @ 9am
Stats: About 5-6hrs and 9km, 825m elevation gain round trip, 18% average grade
Needed: Bring hiking boots, lunch/snacks, water, west coast sunscreen and rain jacket combo, the 10 essentials http://www.northshorerescue.com/education/what-to-bring/. Gaiters/microspikes and poles not needed but may be handy depending on mud/any lingering patches of snow towards the viewpoint.
