This is a public course with a discounted price for BCMC members provided by Canada West Mountain School. This 1-day course with a low, 4:1 ratio, is designed to get you out leading on single-pitch sport climbs. You will spend an intensive day with an ACMG Rock Guide working on all the skills and techniques specific to leading sport routes. Equipment selection, belay techniques, lead climbing principles, movement coaching, and more are all covered in a fun and practical day of climbing. 

Base course fee: $157.50 for members ($175 regular) 

Pre-requisites: previous climbing experience is required. Must be comfortable with climbing to 5.8 level, indoors or outdoors, on a top rope. A top rope anchors course is a good pre-requisite to this course

Logistics: Full day, mostly likely in Squamish
