This is not a course. This is a practice session for intermediate level mountaineers to prepare for the season. We will assist each other but will not have time to teach new skills. Only those with previous training will be moved to the confirmed list.
This is day 2 of a 2 day practice (link to day 1 here), but won't be an overnight trip. You can sign up to each day individually but preference will be given to those who sign up for both days. You are encouraged to work together with partners you plan to mountaineer with this season.
Day 2 Schedule
We'll meet up for an early start, and walk the roughly 4km Evan's Valley trail until we reach snow. We'll rope up and then picket to the summit of Alouette Mountain by way of Fly's Gully. Expect 45 degree snow at the steepest. Once we've summited (by noon) we'll return via the Evan's Peak trail, with an optional side trip up Evan's Peak for those inclined.
