The Facelift is organized by the Yosemite Climbing Association, and may be the largest volunteer event organized by climbers in Canada and the USA. http://www.yosemiteclimbing.org/facelift-2019-1

It officially starts on the evening of Tuesday September 24th, and ends on the evening of Sunday September 29th. Daytime volunteer work of all sorts, evening entertainment, possibility of free camping right in the Valley. I plan to leave on September 20th, to arrive a few days early to play, and help with setup, and then stay for a week after to hike and climb, returning home by October 6th. But am flexible. There are lots of opportunities for climbing and hiking before, during and afterwards, and if you stay in Camp 4 it's possible to extend your stay. (paying).

Requests for camping MUST be sent on or soon after MAY 1st - see the YCA website for full details. (Ask if you're not sure which campground you'd prefer.)

Volunteer jobs at the Facelift include a lot of garbage pickup and sorting - along roads, trails, campgrounds, climbing areas, and generally throughout the park; habitat restoration work; trail work; special projects such as graffiti removal; and of course everything that has to happen to make an event involving 2,500+ volunteer days run smoothly and safely.
