This trip is exploratory in nature as I've never been there in the winter time.
Thanks to Paul K. and his team for the hard work done a few weeks ago in order to bring this area to our attention: it looks amazing, yet so close to Squamish:)
Please be considerate and do NOT sign up unless you are 100% committed for the trip and you are at least an intermediate skier in the Backcountry, which means you have at least 2 seasons(10 trips) of experience. If in doubt about your capabilities send me a message and we can talk about it:)
This is a trip for intermediate and advanced BC skiers only. We won't do any crazy chutes but you should be able to ski black runs under any type of conditions .
We will drive the Mamquam FSR to KM 21. We can probably drive to the same spot as Paul K.:750 meters on the M22 spur. There is active logging there so the road is not in bad shape for an FSR:)
Some trail finding/minor bushwacking is required, of course.
MUST have :
AST1 training
Shovel, probe and avi beacon
Ski crampons -just in case it is icy.
Food and water for the whole day
First aid kit!
Ski Helmet
