This will be my first time ski touring and I hear that Paul's Ridge is a great place to start. I'd like people to join who have experience ski touring and can read slope stability since this will be my first time. Snow tires are required and chains if you have them. I hear the road is difficult to drive up in winter.
We will start from the parking lot of Elfin Lakes and skin up to the ridge stopping at Red Heather Hut. ski around the area for a few hours then head home.
Items to bring: All avalanche gear that is in working condition, water, snacks, headlamp emergency gear, compass, skis. This event will be postponed if there are heightened avalanche conditions from considerable and higher.
Time: Approximately 6 hours return. See the following link for more information. https://backcountryskiingcanada.com/Elfin%20Lakes#Paul%20Ridge

Elevation gain: 880 metres.
Pace: Moderate
We will meet at St. David's church and car pool from there.
I do not have a car so I'm wondering if I could carpool with someone who has space for extra gear. I'm renting from MEC. Please post in the forum section if you can drive, have snow tires or you need a ride.
If you are carpooling, please pay your driver $25.00
