Drive down Friday evening (June 28th), staying overnight at one of the camps, resting on Saturday (June 29th), making a summit attempt on Sunday (June 30). While we should be back to the trailhead on the night of the 30th, I'd advise against making any big plans for Monday. We will most likely stay overnight on June 30th and return July 1st in order to recover before the drive home.
We may bump this schedule one day in order to improve chances of summiting (must be flexible on dates).
This trip is contingent on good weather and acceptable avalanche risk. We'll evaluate weather in the days prior to departure and adjust plans as necessary.
The following is required of all participants:
Gear required:
- Crampons and ice axe
- Rope (1 per 3 people)
- Harness, helmet
- Crevasse rescue equipment
- Overnight camping gear and tent
- Headlamp/torch
- 10 essentials, other gear
Insurance:
STRONGLY CONSIDER trip insurance for the trip. Do you want to get bankrupt because you slipped and hurt your ankle?
Border:
You MUST have a valid passport or other travel document enabling you to cross the US border. Arrange your ESTA visa in advance to save time at the border if you need one.
Do NOT use the nexus lane unless everyone has a nexus card. Don't take fruit/vegetables across the border, it's not worth the hassle/risk - you can buy vegetables in the US easily, and no doubt you will enjoy the additional selection of food not available in Canada anyway.
Emergency Info:
Make sure your Emergency contact is up to date. You will need this to attend the trip.
