Tuesday January 8th BCMC Social Event
Forever Upwards: Climbing Mexico's Highest Mountains
Doors @7:00 PM at the ANZA Club
Social Event @7:30 PM
When Steven Levkin, Taylor Livingston and Richard Carey set off to climb three of Mexico’s highest mountains, they had no idea how many difficulties they would need to face. As novice climbers and amateur filmmakers, this expedition became a true adventure forcing them far out of their comfort zones and pushing the team to its limit.
Along with a screening of their film, Forever Upwards: Mexico, these climbers will speak of major factors that were difficult to portray in the film. Corrupted video files, snot-freezing windchill and navigating the unknown. These are only a few of the many unexpected challenges this team needed to overcome while climbing Pico de Orizaba, North America’s third highest mountain.
Forever Upwards: Mexico will be playing at the social but you can also find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZgOpCZT17A
The Social will take place at the Vancouver ANZA Club main floor (corner of 8th Ave and Ontario) on Tuesday, January 8th. The entrance door will open at 7 pm and we will begin the evening at 7:30 PM with an Update from the Executive. Please note: you must be 19+ years old to attend and may be asked to sign-in at the door to ensure we don't exceed 117 people in the hall. Once at capacity we will be forced to turn attendees away. Feel free to grab a drink at the bar before the social starts.
