It is a 4.5 hour drive to north end of Pemberton Valley, so ideally would like to leave Thursday evening.
Drive to trailhead and hike in along Salal Creek (may involve route-finding and bushwhacking). 15km with 800m of elevation gain (could be 8+ hours). Hiking on river rocks so hiking poles recommended.
Arrive at amazing high pass with huge glacier running down into valley bottom. Find camping spot and spend two days exploring peaks, ridges and old mining camps.
Return to Vancouver by Monday evening.
Great article and photos here of the area: https://www.hellobc.com/stories/hiking- athelney-pass-a-hidden-gem-in-bcs-coast- mountains/
