Trip Description

Location is dependent on our preference and gear available.  I'm thinking of sport at Chek or cragging at the bluffs or murrin park.  Also interested in easy multipitch if there are only 2 of us.  Safety first, then fun and improvement as a climber!

Every participant must be able to build and clean a 'serene' anchor as well as lead belay.  While I'm sure the more experienced climbers will be happy to share their knowledge, this is not a climbing course. We will find an area with a variety of grades that match the participants' preference.

Meeting: 9AM, parking lot of St. David's United Church at Taylor Way & Hwy 1

All participants must bring their personal climbing gear (harness, belay device, locking biner, climbing shoes, helmet and a headlamp . Also highly recommended is a prussik for rappelling, water, snacks to share and swim wear, if you would like to go for a dip after the climb

Ropes & anchor material for this event are provided by participants and not by the club. If you have a full strength climbing rope and anchor material, please do bring it.

Emergency contact info: please log in, click on: My Account > Edit Profile Information > Private Info and add it (you'll need to re-enter your password).  Your emergency contact info will be stored *privately* and made available to those organizing trips *you* choose to attend.

Cancellation due to Weather: If PoP for Squamish on Environment Canada's website (http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/city/pages/bc-50_metric_e.html) remain over 40% in the morning, the trip is cancelled. As long as PoP is 40% or lower, the trip is on.
