VIMFF and BCMC present, "Dirtbag - The Legend of Fred Beckey" at the Centennial Theater in North Vancouver on Tuesday February 13th. Doors open at 6:30, show starts at 7:30pm.
Come check out speaker Jim Herrington, a photographer whose portraits of celebrities including Benny Goodman, Willie Nelson, The Rolling Stones, Cormac McCarthy, Morgan Freeman and Dolly Parton have appeared on the pages of Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Esquire, GQ, Outside and Men's Journal as well as on scores of album covers for more than three decades.
Check out the incredible film documentary "Dirtbag - The Legend of Fred Beckey". Fred Beckey was the original American "Dirtbag" climber whose name evokes mystery, adulation and vitriol. A rebel athlete since the 1940s, Beckey was a true pioneer of the outdoors. He passed away in October 2017 aged 94, climbing until the very end.
