Thread the Needle

Ski mountaineering to summit of Needle Peak in the Coquihalla

This trip is intended for experienced backcountry skiers with basic winter mountaineering skills.

See Baldwin 3rd Edition, Chapter 10, page 193, Needle Peak— we will likely add a few km’s.

Gear for Winter Backcountry travel, Avi gear (Digital transceiver, Probe, Shovel), AT ski equipment, Headlamp suitable for skiing.

We are bringing a helmet and ice axe for final summit attempt. Crampons might be a good idea.

Organizer will bring GPS with tracks; map and compass; Personal Locator Beacon; camera; first aid kit.
