This first offering is for individuals using a dedicated GPS Device such as Garmin GPS Units and will utilize backcountrybc.ca as a teaching platform (**No Android or Smartphones in this session**)
This semi-casual two hour workshop will focus on five main topics. It will be taught by Chris Ludwig (BCMC Webmaster and Website Designer of backcountrybc.ca) Cost: $10 Using Paypal Button. Participants will be confirmed after payment.
Topic 1 - How to use your handheld GPS Device and understanding GPS Technology
Topic 2 - Learning how to use the key features on backcountrybc.ca
Topic 3 - GPS Data Transfer to and from a GPS Device and backcountrybc.ca
Topic 4 - Working with and editing GPX files
Topic 5 - Rendering GPX files in Google Earth and OSM (Open Street Maps)
Required Equipment:
A Handheld GPS Device
A Laptop Computer
A Means of transferring data from your GPS Device to your Laptop Computer (USB Cable, etc.)
The $10 dollar course fee will be used for the $20 loft rental fee, handouts and snacks with the remainder donated to the club.
Wi-Fi will be available on site for all participants.
