This course is for British Columbia Mountaineering Club (BCMC) members who are skiers and boarders wanting to learn to avoid avalanches, travel safely in the backcountry, and build their arsenal of mountain knowledge. There are no prerequisites for this course, except competency on your skis/snowboard.

Base course Fee: $207.20 (Special price for BCMC Members; Regular price: $259)

Location: likely Whistler (possibly Sea to Sky Gondola for field day)

Course Objectives:

Notes:

• Cost does not include transportation to/from course areas; lift access fees (if applicable); food; or personal equipment except as noted.
• You must supply your own ski touring, splitboard, or snowshoe setup. If you don't have your own equipment, you can rent from MEC Vancouver or from other local mountain shops.
• This course is for BCMC members only.

(3)  You will receive a confirmation email from MSAA once your payment is completed. Forward your confirmation email to courses@bcmc.ca. You will then be added to the Confirmed List

Trip Organizer & Volunteer Instructor Incentive Program:

If you’ve volunteered your time as either:
(a) a Trip Organizer with 4 or more outdoor trips in the past 12 months, you may apply for a 25% rebate off the course fee, or
b) Course Instructor (primary volunteer organizer) in the past 12 months, you may apply for a 50% refund off the course fee.
