We're going to meet to kick off the committee. I'll start by running through some of the projects and possibilities for huts and trails. We'll try to breakdown the workload into projects.

This is not just an information session. I'm looking for champions that are willing to take something on from the list of projects below. We need people that can work through the winter in getting together specs, authorizations, budgets and plans. In summer we need people that can execute those plans, which means getting volunteers out there and doing the work.

Here's what we're planning on in 2018 and approved budget amounts.

• Mountain Lake hut refurbishment (new roof, windows, doors, outhouse fix up). Budget $11,000.
• Mountain Lake hut heating (propane heat). Budget $4,000.
• Howe Sound Crest Trail North extension between Mountain Lake and Sea to Sky gondola, section 57 authorization, route marking. Budget $3,000.
• Furry Creek trail work and section 57 authorization. Budget $3,000.
• North Creek trail survey and footbridges, section 57 authorization. Budget $5,000.
• Watersprite Hut and Trail completion projects (upper boardwalk, finish trail construction through rockslide, miscellaneous hut improvements). Budget $1,200.
• Watersprite Lake trail extension to campsite. Budget $2,000.
• Lions Trail fund raising, project management, administration and oversight. The work will be contracted out.
• Rose Trail construction, clearing. Work with BC Parks to approve helicopter flight. Budget $2,000
• Sigurd Trail maintenance. Work with BC Parks to approve helicopter flight. Budget $3,000
• Sigurd Trail extension to Sigurd Lake, new hut (working with BC Parks to get authorization)
• Fitzsimmons Creek footbridge (advocacy, working with BC Parks, Whistler Blackcomb etc.)
• Pinecone-Burke alpine routes and huts (working with BC Parks)
• Tantalus Traverse alpine route and huts (working with Ministry of Forests, BC Parks)
• Purchase a leasehold cabin or a share at Cypress for use as a club cabin
