Reference: Alpine Select route #63 (AD- ice), 6-8 pitches of steep ice.
Duration: this will be a 2-day trip with an early morning meetup Saturday.
Approach: via Cerice Creek summer trail, bivy at Motel 66 ( http://goo.gl/x1tVP )
Skills: basic mountaineering, with crevasse rescue training, and multi-pitch WI-2 ice climbing.
Experience: must have completed at least one multi-pitch ice/snow route in the last 2 years.
Personal Gear: pair of ice tools incl. hammer, half 8mm x 60m rope, antibot steel (no aluminium!) crampons, helmet, climbing harness, rescue pulley, ascender (tibloc or jumar), rappel & anchor material, 2 snow pickets (short) with runners attached, two 5mm prusiks, personal emergency kit (head lamp with spare batteries, medical, and PLB/SPOT/GPS if you have one).
Safety Concerns: if minimum safety levels are not met (because of weather, conditions, etc.) the trip will be cancelled, last minute cancellations do occur.
