Upgrades to the BCMC's Watersprite Lake Trail Continue!
Now that the first 2 KM have been fortified with Bridges, Boardwalk, Stairs, Drainage and a new Trail Kiosk it is time to upgrade the middle section of the New Watersprite Trail.
Volunteers will be performing the following tasks: UPDATED
1) Unclog and tame the culvert and logging road bridge on the S1 spur at KM 3.4
2) Clear vegetation and improve drainage of the S Line from KM 2 to 3.4
3) A scouting party will use my long tape measure to take measurements of the upper Demon Creek Crossing and plan for a future bridge installation
4) Finding and preparing logs for new bridges. across Demon Creek (multiple bridges).
We will utilize the BCMC's secret "maintenance trail" for this trip which bypasses the initial 3 KM of trail.
This trip will be the third in a series of major trail upgrades and construction trips dedicated to BCMC maintained Trails. Come join us and help make this worthy project come to life and help upgrade the middle to upper section of the new trail!
Section 57 authorization has been granted for this project. Maximum participants Unlimited!
I have provided two GPX files for this trip (download them using the links on the bottom left of the page). The first are the driving directions to the trailhead from Squamish, and the second is the GPX file for the trail itself.
