We can have this course run any weekend before August 1st.
This course is taught by a professional ACMG certified guide from Vancouver Mountain Guides (VMG). VMG is offering a special price of $103.95 w/tax for this course . This course will run with a minimum of 4 participants.
Prerequisites:
Participants must be able to lead 5.8 trad, and have lead belaying skills, and gear anchor building skills.
Participants are also required to do some homework prior to the course! Practice and review the munter hitch w/ mule knot tie off (video link: https://youtu.be/XkIHoJBzECs)
Gear:
You are required to bring all your usual climbing gear for a day at the crags:
- harness, helmet, belay device, climbing shoes, approach shoes, clothing appropriate for the day
You are encouraged to bring whatever trad or aid gear you have; it's always good to practice on your own gear! If you don't have these items, don't worry - VMG will supply:
- 2 daisy chains, 115cm or 140cm (if 5'10" or taller get the 140cm)
- 2 aiders, minimum 4 steps (u-shaped works best, e.g., Metolius Pocket Aider)
- 2 locking biners
- 2 ascenders w/handles
- micro-traxion (or pro-traxion)
- 2m x 7mm cord
- a backpack that can be "hauled" (30L or more)
- double trad rack of cams and nuts
- extra 10-15 biners
- anchor materials
- climbing rope (minimum 9.8mm x 60m)
