Saturday Rock Climbing Trip To Squamish:



The Trip:

-Saturday rock climbing trip to Squamish. (We tolerate 30-40% POP)

-Most climbers top-rope (some lead) 5.7 to 5.8,9 a few climb 5.10+.

-Participants must be save belayers indoors or outdoors. This is not a climbing course, however some informal mentoring by more experienced members is usually available.

-Please bring your personal climbing gear - harness, belay device, locking biner, prussic, climbing shoes. HELMET AND SAFETY LINE/DAISY CHAIN IS MANDATORY

-Please bring your ropes and anchor material for this event if you have it.



-Meeting: Saturday 9 a.m., parking lot at St. David’s Church Taylor Way & Hwy 1

-Departure: 9.10 am sharp
-Back in West Vancouver: Around 5-6 p.m. for dinner and Saturday Night Fever.

-Sign up Thursday - latest Friday 8p.m. (6 p.m. if you need a ride) email preferred.



Weather/Cancellation: If the ‘Weatheroffice/EnviroCanada’ forecast for Saturday for Squamish is 40% p.o.p the trip is still a go. Above 40% p.o.p. (check it on Saturday morning) the trip is automatically cancelled.



We need: Additional Saturday Rock Trip Leaders!

We are looking for 2, 3 additional organizers/mentors who can lead one Saturday rock trip to Squamish per month. Climbing level: Save 5.8 (9) top ropers. We help to organize your first trip. Contact wernergr@shaw.ca or Radmila Jaksic (via BCMC member page).
