My friend Jacob (a BCMC member too) and I plan to go mountaineering for a week with main objective Mt. Adams and Mt.Hood, leaving Vancouver on Friday July 7th afternoon and hopefully being back by Sunday 16th evening. We'll probably climb/hike another mountain after these two ones. The best would be to find one or two persons for the whole week, but we'll be fine splitting it into two independent trips, with different participants. We'll try to free camp most of the nights.
For Mt. Adams: leaving Vancouver on Friday afternoon, driving as far as we want, camp somewhere, finish to drive on Sat morning, get to high camp (about 750 m elevation gain). Summit via the Adams Glacier route and get back to the car on Sunday afternoon.
Rest & drive to Mt.Hood on Monday.
For Mt. Hood: Summit by the Sandy Headwall, either as a long 1-day trip on Tuesday or as a 2-day trip. Rest/drive on Thursday.
Then...? Olympics, Shuksan, Helens... TBD,
Everything is weather dependant, and can be adapted or postponed by one or two days.
