Please bring a map and familiarize yourself with the route as described on page 126 of Exploring the Coast Mountain on Skis.

Check the forecast for nearby Mount Matier and read the Avalanche Canada spring conditions report for the All Melt, No Freeze scenario.

Travel could be ugly through the trees until we reach upper Joffre Lake; ski crampons are highly recommended. You’ll also want lots of sunscreen and at least 2 litres of water!
