4:00pm @ Chevron on Boundary Rd just south of Grandview Hwy
The Skaha Bluffs have many excellent sport and trad rock climbing routes. There should be good opportunities for both leading and top- roping, depending on skill levels. Expect full days of climbing on Friday and Saturday. We will also get in as much climbing as possible on Sunday before departing home.
I've booked tent sites for 8 climbers at Banbury Green Campground in Penticton. The plan is to leave work a bit early on Thursday, drive up and camp. The remaining days we will climb as much as possible.
All participants must bring their personal climbing gear, including harness, belay device, locking biner, climbing shoes, and helmet. The club does not provide ropes for club trips. Please bring a rope if you own one.
While the more experienced climbers are usually happy to share their knowledge, this is not a climbing course. All participants must be able to safely belay and have some experience leading. Everyone will be encouraged to lead.
We'll plan to meet at 4:00pm at the Chevron on Boundary Road just south of Grandview Hwy on Thursday, April 13th. We'll aim to arrive back in Vancouver on Sunday evening.
Note: This is a joint trip with the ACC. There are 4 spots remaining which is why the group size has been posted for 5 people (4 spots excluding myself).
