There are 4 huts. I'm thinking of heading for the McNair hut (because I've been to Mt. Steele before) and from there we could access Panther Peak on the second day. However, objectives will ultimately be decided based on group experience and interest (as well as weather and avy conditions of course).

The terrain is much more mellow than most of the Coast Mountains, so it would be an ideal destination for someone's first multi-day ski trip.

If you are coming up Friday morning, you will need to catch the 6:20am ferry from Horseshoe Bay. We will meet up at the Strait Coffee shop in Wilson Creek (just off the highway between Roberts Creek and Sechelt) which is about a 20min drive from Langdale. The planning forum can be used to arrange carpools to the meet-up point.

Hut fees are $15/person/night for non-members. Also remember to bring gas$ for drivers.

Gear requirements: transceiver, shovel, probe, food for 3days, stove, fuel, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, first aid kit, headlamp, toilet paper....

Also must have AST1 or higher.

This trip is contingent on someone in the group having a 4wd vehicle with chains since my old car won't cut it. No one will be added to the 'confirmed' list until we have at least one backroad vehicle.
