Plan is to take the Whistler lift (backcountry ticket = $61) and get in the musical bumps as early as possible. The advantage of touring in W/B after a pineapple express is that you get directly into the good snow in the alpine, avoiding all the cement/crust/nasties lower down. Current conditions above 1700m are good: about 30 cm ski penetration.
We will ski Flute, Oboe and possibly Cowboy Ridge. Return via lower Flute or Singing Pass at the end of the day depending on where we end up.
Necessary:
- Beacon, shovel, probe
- AST1 or extensive backcountry experience
- headlamp
- little first aid kit
- food, water, suitable clothes
Always a plus if you have them:
- GPS, compass, map
- phone, camera
