Trip Description

Manning Park Ski Tour: Lightning Lakes to Frosty Mtn

Manning Park Ski Tour Dude :)

Snow Alert! It looks like Manning Park's amazing Powder has survived the recent rain storms!

Join us on this moderate backcountry ski tour. We will climb up towards Frosty Mountain and glide across open meadows to visit the ancient sleeping larch trees. The distance is considered long and somewhat strenuous. The pace will be friendly with re-grouping, so expect to be back after dark (bring headlamp suitable for skiing.)

This trip is suitable for newer backcountry skiers with a moderate to high level of fitness, and intermediate to advanced level of downhill skiing ability. We will be stopping at key points during the trip to promote Avalanche Awareness.

Mandatory equipment: Avi gear: Transceiver, Probe and Shovel. Headlamp suitable for skiing. Chocolate and cheese to share :)
