Bring in the new year with a fun ascent to the col between Nak and Thar.  Access from the highway south of the Falls Lake trail.  Possibly summit Nak from here and/or ski back down.  Yoyo if time permits.  Back to the car before dark.  I am not certain about snow coverage, but there should be some fresh accumulation from the weekend.  Forecast is for clear and very cold conditions.

I will bring GPS, Spot beacon, first aid kit.  I am bringing ski crampons, but I do not expect to be using them.

Minimum requirements:

Backcountry skis/splitboard setup, beacon, probe, shovel

AST 1 or higher

10 essentials, sufficient clothing, food and water to survive the elements for a full day in the backcountry.  I am expecting very cold conditions around minus 20 degrees.

Some backcountry experience is preferred but not absolutely essential.
