Deeks Peak is near the North end of the Howe Sound Crest trail. We'll start from the Howe Sound Crest Trail parking lot on Porteau Road. The route follows some old logging roads to Kallahne Lake. It was slightly overgrown last summer, but I think it will be fine with the snow. There's a small cabin at Kallahne Lake. From there, we'll continue up to Deek's Peak. It's about 1500m of elevation gain. This will be my first ski tour this season, so I plan on a slow to moderate pace. I'd like to make it to the peak, but I wouldn't mind if we don't.
Please conduct your own research into the route, and compare that with your own experience, fitness level and skill.
