Manning Park Ski Tour: Grassy Mountain to Bojo return via Gibson Pass Ski Hill, ~20km Loop
Manning Park Ski Tour Dude :)
Are you ready to experience the amazing Fresh Powder of Manning Park?
Snow Alert! 50cm base expected at the trailhead, 100cm up top!! Fresh powder this weekend with cold temps.
Join us on another easy to moderate backcountry ski tour. We will return to the Grassy Mountain area (beyond the Orange Chair of Manning Park Ski Area) near Gibson Pass. Let's check out how much snow has fallen since we skied here last weekend, and ski the bowl if conditions look promising. From here we will skin up the ridge and on to Bojo. There will be some route-finding required in the Bojo Mountain area. We will explore the Bojo area and get in some turns if timing and conditions allow. For early season the distance is considered long and somewhat strenuous. The pace will be friendly with re-grouping, so expect to be back after dark (bring headlamp suitable for skiing.)
This trip is suitable for newer backcountry skiers with an intermediate level of downhill skiing ability. We will be stopping at key points during the trip to promote Avalanche Awareness.
Mandatory equipment: Avi gear: Transceiver, Probe and Shovel. Headlamp suitable for skiing.
