***UPDATE: opening to 12 people now. We will do theory and transceiver checks on our way up and around the trail split before first pump we can do scenarios and digging separately***
Come with me to refresh your avalanche skills on Seymour (theory and practice) before heading out in the big terrain. I will bury some packs and you will find them. We will practice terrain recognition, trip planning, use of transceivers and a full avy mockup scenario. Weather permitting, we will treat ourselves to some skiing/boarding/snowshoeing/bumskiing in the end.
I will likely be on skis, but depends on the group. I might bring a board. Snowshoers welcome as long as there's at least two of you and you know the way back.
DISCLAIMER
I am just a recreational backcountry admirer with AST-1. I ski, snowboard, mountaineer, and generally have some serious fun up in the mountains. This is NOT an instructional course and you are expected to have some knowledge of avalanche safety, AST-1 preferred. Participate at your own risk.
