This is a great conditioning hike (short/steep) for backcountry skiing and winter mountaineering. If you are not familiar with the BCMC Trail route (next to the "Grouse Grind"), please research it beforehand. You should feel comfortable with hiking alone at your own pace so if you are slower or faster than others (i.e. group) you can safely reach the Grouse Mountain Chalet on your own. After reaching the top, the plan will be to meet inside the chalet by the fireplace and then ride the gondola down ($10 fee).
