Come prepared for some snow on the trail, i.e. consider bringing layers of outdoor-activity clothing, hiking poles and micro-spikes.
This is a great conditioning hike (short/steep) for backcountry skiing and winter mountaineering. If you are not familiar with the BCMC Trail route (next to the "Grouse Grind"), please research it beforehand. You should feel comfortable with hiking alone at your own pace so if you are slower or faster than others you can safely reach the Grouse Mountain Chalet on your own. The end of the trip will be our meeting inside the chalet by the fireplace... after that you can either ride the gondola down ($10 fee) or hike down (possibly on your own).
Please consider bringing the "10 Essentials", which include: http://www.northshorerescue.com/education/what-to-bring/
