Expect full days of climbing. It will work better if there is an even number and people are paired and have objectives in mind before we leave. Each pair will have all climbing gear including rope and protection, a guide book or print out, and a list of areas and climbs they would like to visit.
I have been to both areas a number of times and will happily share my knowledge. A free guide and other information is readily available on the internet.
All participants must bring their personal climbing gear, including harness, belay device, locking biner, climbing shoes, and helmet. The club supplies NO equipment for climbing trips. Also note... while the more experienced climbers are usually happy to share their knowledge, this is not a climbing course.
All participants must be able to safely belay and have some experience leading. Everyone will be encouraged to lead.
We'll plan to meet at 6:00am in Vancouver probably around Burrard Street on TUESDAY 18TH Oct. If you need a ride to the meeting place or for the trip, please post a request in this trip's planning forum. We'll aim to arrive back iVancouver on Friday evening 21ST Oct.
There is free camping at Vantage and a cheap campsite at Tieton River. There are no facilities of any kind at Vantage so participants will need food and water for 3 days or be prepared to drive to town. All participants will need full camping gear and remember it can get a little chilly in the evenings around this time of year.
NOTE, WE WILL BE CROSSING THE BORDER SO EVERYONE MUST HAVE UP TO DATE AND VALID DOCUMENTATION FOR ENTERING THE USA.
If not sure if this is the trip for you please email me.
