Tuesday the 13th of September BCMC Social
Into the White - by Lena Rowat
Lena is the only person to have skiied the entire distance from tidal water near Vancouver, along the spine of the Coast Range & then The Saint Elias Mountains, to then climb Mt. Logan's East Ridge before skiing down the other side. Most of this was done in 2 multi-month trips in 2001 & 2002, & all of it was done in high style.
In the upcoming presentation she will be showing a compliation of photos & video to give a small taste of what was involved in her self-propelled journey to & over Canada's highest mountain.
Lena now works in Vancouver as a midwife, while filling her off call time with as much mountain adventrure as possible; This spring she enjoyed joining a group for 2 weeks as they started off on their complete Selkirks Traverse.
[1] ... visitors, members and guests. The meeting will take place at the Vancouver ANZA Club main floor (corner of 8th Ave and Ontario) on Tuesday, September 13 2016. The entrance door opens shortly after 7pm and the BCMC Social is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm.
[2] Note: you must be 19+ years old to attend and may be asked to sign-in at the door to ensure we don't exceed 135 people in the hall.
