Pages 180 - 185   Matt Gun Scrambles 

This trip requires 4WD to reduce the time to hike in.  I can take me + 4 passengers.  More 4WD = more hikers

Day 1 will be big.  4 hour drive, 3 hour hike to hut, 7 hours of hiking to bag Gandalf, cross the col to summit Aragorn, then descend to the col and return to camp via the col route. 

Day 2 will be 4 hours up and down Shadowfax, 3 hour hike out, food and refreshment in Pemberton, then back to the city.

Attendees must be able to hike at a strong steady pace.  Although this is not a technical outing, a high level of fitness is mandatory.
