Trad climbing, or traditional rock climbing, is the original style of rock climbing in which climbers set and remove their protection as they climb. This allows climbers to climb any route that allows for removable protection.
This course is intended for intermediate to advanced top-rope or sport climbers.

- racking up for a lead
- natural anchors - assessment and use
- simulated/mock leads

Climbing Equipment Provided by MSAA (or bring your own if you have):
- Rock shoes
- harmess

Personal Clothing and Gear (not provided by MSAA, please bring your own):
Weather conditions are constantly changing. Plan ahead and dress accordingly. Recommended list below:
- long climbing pants
- t-shirt
- mid layer fleece or wool top
- waterproof shell jacket
- down or synthetic insulating jacket and pants
- warm hat (that can fit under a helmet)
- light gloves
- sunglasses and sunscreen
- approach shoes
- day pack 25-35L
- water and snacks
The price of the adventure is $125 with a minimum of 6 participants. This is a special discounted price just for BCMC members. The price includes a certified guide/instructor and all climbing equipment. A maximum of 8 participants can be accommodated, or multiples of 8 (8, 16, 24 etc.).
