Construction of the New Watersprite Lake Trail continues with vigor with the connecting of this year's work, and the clearing work of 2014 (connecting the dots).  

Out of shape after a winter of excess and lethargy?  Too much girth around the mid-section?  

Then this trip is for you!  Work begins a modest 2.4 Km from the parking lot.

This trip will be the third in a series of trail clearing and construction trips dedicated to the New Watersprite Lake Trail, which will be used to access the club's new cabin.  Thanks to a valiant one man battle last weekend (David Scanlon) against the mighty red alder of the S Line, the work site (marked in blue on the map) has been mostly  vanquished by one lone savage chainsaw operator.   The swamping crew will remove the wreckage left behind and continue its drainage improvement work and cosmetic upgrades.

The first 2.4 KM of the trail has been transformed into a very pleasant hike. 

Come join us and help make this worthy project come to life and get swamping!

The club will re-emburse the cost of fuel for chainsaw and brush cutter operators.  Furthermore, section 57 authorization has been granted for this project.

I have provided two GPX files for this trip (download them using the links on the bottom left of the page).  The first are the driving directions to the trailhead from Squamish, and the second is the GPX file for the trail itself.

I anticipate being able to connect this year's work with the 2014 work on this trip, which would expand the current trail from 2.4 KM to a whopping 4 KM in length.
