Easter in the Spearheads
Plan
A spring backcountry skiing trip.
Setup base camp in the Spearhead range, on the Trorey Glacier, after skiing from Blackcomb. From this perfect location spend several days exploring the heart of the Spearhead Range on skis without heavy packs. Return via Blackcomb Seventh Heaven.

1. This trip is not for beginners. Hopefully you have been on similar multiday skiing trips and have avalanche training or comparable experience.
2. We will be making conservative decisions and limiting ourselves to what everyone is comfortable with.
Gear and Food and Expenses
All backcountry skiing equipment including skins, touring skis/boots, avalanche beacon, probe, shovel, ice axe, ski crampons, and all camping equipment. I will be bringing a good topo map and satellite phone for emergency use. Everyone will be responsible for their own food and we will share stoves, fuel, and tents in pairs. Harness and glacier travel gear are required. We will be getting lift passes at Whistler which are not free, and there will be gas and other expenses.
Backup Plan and Weather
This trip will only go if weather is good and the avalanche bulletin is at moderate or low. Otherwise we will reschedule to the Next weekend (April 1) or the next weekend (April 9).
Meeting Time
We will be meeting very early in the morning on Friday at St. David’s Church, and driving up to Whistler together. We will return on Sunday.
