Trip Description

This is a short beginner friendly trip for those of us new to backcountry skiing who would like to practice our skills - or for anyone else interested in an easy mid-week ski.  We will take time as needed to play with our gear, work out any problems, and swap ski tips so the trip will not be suitable for those who might be frustrated by this. The idea is just to have fun and gain some more ski practice and experience with the gear in a relaxed, supportive environment. We will skin up and ski down the hiking trail at Hollyburn (and possibly in the trees near the trail).

AST-1 or avalanche or rescue training/practice is not needed to join this trip but you will need to carry avalanche safety gear (transceiver, shovel and probe) as these are required on all BCMC back or side country ski trips.
