NO MORE KEROSENE!

The Whistler ACC did $15,000 of renovations over the summer (tell your friends who think the proposed BCMC Watersprite Lake hut is too expensive...) which included installing bunk beds, solar lighting, and replacing the Kerosene heater with a wood stove.

As a result of the renovations, the ACC increased the nightly per person fee from $12 to $20, so the total hut fees per person for this trip are $40 for two nights.

I've paid for the group. I will move you from the wait-list to the confirmed list only after you forward an email money transfer for $40 to me at mik e h am ata [at) g m ai l. com. If you don't want to send an email money transfer let me know and we can arrange something else. Please also ensure you meet the other requirements set out below.

ALL participants MUST have the following equipment:

Beacon, Probe & Shovel

AST-1 or higher training

AT/telemark ski or splitboard setup (including skins)

Headlamp

Appropriate clothing for being out in the elements all day, for three consecutive days.

Winter sleeping bag, stove, etc.

Enough food and water to remain on the move for most of the day, for three consecutive days.

(trip organizer will carry the following items: first aid kit, GPS/Compass/Map)

This will involve a long day, with the potential for some objective dangers. Trip will only "go" with a decent weather forecast (POP of 30% or less).

Please consider NOT seeking to join this trip unless you have conducted your own research into the route, and compared that with your own experience, fitness level and skill.

Please update your BCMC Account Profile with your emergency contact information. To do that you have to login on the website, click the "My account" button at top right, then click on "edit profile information", then select the "private information" tab and enter your emergency contact information -- this info will stay in your profile and is made available to a trip organizer automatically -- it saves time at the meeting point.

N.B. If you have previously "bailed" less than a day before the start of, or been a "no show" for, one of the trip organizer's previous trips, you need not apply to join this one - you will not get a response.
