This trip will be a slightly shorter version than last year's successful trip to Rogers Pass.
The plan: leave on Feb 17th, driving from Vancouver to Rogers Pass (about 7hours). We'll then stay at the Glacier Lodge, a hotel at the top of the pass and do day trips from there. There are many fantastic day trips, most of them involving elevation gain of 1,500 to 2,000m. The snow is usually very good at that time of the year, with lots of the best powder in Canada. We'll ski for 5 days (Feb 18-22) and drive back at the end of the day on Feb 22 (I may head on to the Kootenays if it works out for car pooling). There is a hot tub at the hotel.
How many people: 6 total (including me). Priority to Club Members.
Rooms: I have booked 3 rooms to share 2 people per room. Average cost is around $46 per person per night plus tax. The hotel is pretty well full already.
Meals: You can purchase meals at the hotel or prepare your own food (in the parking lot -- no cooking in the rooms).
Cost: $350 per person for hotel and carpooling, to be paid in advance to reserve a spot. This money will be used to pay for the hotel and compensate drivers for carpooling (according to BCMC guideline). $40 Glacier National Park fee extra. Any excess funds after paying for the hotel and carpooling, will be returned to participants (this is not a profit-making trip).
Cancellation: Full refund if a suitable replacement is found, otherwise the refund will be based on excess funds remaining at the end of the trip.
