The purpose of this trip is to construct a quality trail ascending from the newly constructed Paranoid Creek Bridge up Darling Ridge following the approximate line of the old Mamquam Icefield Trail (see dotted Geen Line on Map). This route has been flagged and explored by three exploratory parties over the past month.
Work begins immediately at the Paranoid Creek Bridge (the blue tack on the map below) and is a modest 3 KM / one hour hike from the cars (200 meters elevation gain). The road to the dam is permanently maintained, but 4x4/awd is preferred.
Volunteers are needed to clear debris from the brush cutter and chainsaw. The goal is to create quality trail, not quantity. Thus, the expectation is not to reach the ridge crest. Fortunately, the work area is well shaded.
Come join us and help make this worthy project come to life!
