Adventures in Garibaldi Park, plus Watersprite Lake Cabin Update
Join us as BCMC Executives Dave Scanlon and Bob Woodhouse present four of their many Adventures in Garibaldi Park. From the summer 2007, Bob and Dave undertook the Misty Icefields and McBride traverses and travelled to Outlier and the Nivalis Camp. To say nothing of having to arrange for the emergency evacuation of injured participants on two of the trips. And no, they did not find Sumach's gold. Which is fortunate. Rather than presenting the best places to golf during a dreary Vancouver winter, Bob and Dave will present an overview of some of the best that Garibaldi Park has to offer.
Preceding the main presentation will be a short presentation with the latest Watersprite Lake Cabin Update. Included will be an overview of the estimated construction and transportation costs, along with the group's reasons for choosing to build a cabin that will comfortably sleep 14 adults. Please note that voting members of the club will, at an future Special General Meeting (date TBA), be asked to decide whether to approve funding for this project... so it's important to attend and learn more about it.
Everyone is welcome [1] ... visitors, members and guests. The meeting will take place at the Vancouver ANZA Club main floor (corner of 8th Ave and Ontario) on Tuesday May 12th, 2015. The entrance door opens shortly after 7pm and the meeting begins at 7:30pm. [1] Note: you must be 19+ years old to attend and may be asked to sign-in at the door to ensure we don't exceed 135 people in the hall.
