This trip will be the fourth and hopefully final installment of phase 1 of this year's ongoing B.C.M.C. effort to tame Mamquam Mountain by constructing a quality trail to Darling Lake. The purpose of this trip is to make a final push to clear the old S2 logging spur to Paranoid Creek and the Garibaldi Park boundary. We will also spend a limited amount of time upgrading/enhancing the new connector trail.
Work begins at the current end of the trail (see purple star on the map below) and will follow the purple line to Paranoid Creek (the X on the map).
Work begins after an easy 1.5 KM / 35 minute hike from the parking area near the dam. The road to the dam is permanently maintained, but 4x4/awd is preferred.
Phase 2 will involve construction of a foot bridge over Paranoid Creek.
Due to the impressive density, quantity and overall heinousness of Alder on the S2 logging spur, there is an especially great need for swampers on this trail clearing trip.
Come join us and help make this worthy project come to life!
