Mountaineering in the Rexford area with the West Ridge being the primary objective. Strong and confident climbing skills at low 5th class, rappelling, and understanding of hazards required. The plan would be to leave early in the morning at 5.30am from Burnaby, hike up into the basin and assess conditions and timing for a summit attempt that day. Otherwise, a bivy will be set up for an attempt in the morning. Return home late sunday evening. It is up to participants to research route, approach, and descent info.
Participants need to be able to supply the required gear:
-1 60m half rope (not twin)
- Snow pickets
-Helmet
-ice axe, crampons
-Rock Pro
-Personal safety gear (harness, belay device, prusiks, etc)
-Tent/tarp shelter
As a final note, plans may change or the trip cancelled up to the last minute depending on conditions. Alternative plans can be discussed in the lead-up to the trip.
