Priority may be given to those people wait-listed on the January 31 ski trip to Rohr.

 Emphasis will be on safety and fun, summiting is a lower priority!

 See page 130 of the Baldwin Guide for route info.  Please familiarize yourself with the area and research avalanche/weather conditions to the extent possible.  Some backcountry experience and reasonable fitness level are preferred.

 I’m hoping for a little bit of new snow.  Drive up early Saturday morning, skin to camp (Rohr Lake?), and then get a few turns in if time permits.  Sunday ski the north side of Rohr, and be back to the car before dark to drive home.

 I am a fairly new BCMC member (almost 2 years) but with the guidance of previous trip participants/courses I now feel much more comfortable in the backcountry.  I have wanted to go up Rohr for some time now and this route is my preference.  However, I'm open to moving this trip to a different location if either weather or avalanche conditions are better elsewhere.

 Please answer the Trip Planning Questions to help organize rides, and for sharing tents, stoves etc.

 ALL participants MUST have the following equipment: (bring extra items if desired)

 Beacon, Probe & Shovel and know how to use them

 AST-1 or higher training

 AT/telemark ski or splitboard setup (including skins)

 Headlamp

 Appropriate clothing for being out in the elements in the Alpine

 Enough food and water for the 2 day trip

 (trip organizer will carry the following items: first aid kit, GPS/Compass/Map/Spot)

 This will involve long days, with the potential for some objective dangers.  Trip will only "go" with a decent weather forecast (POP of 30% or less).  Final determination whether the trip goes will be made on Thursday night.

 Please consider NOT seeking to join this trip unless you have conducted your own research into the route, and compared that with your own experience, fitness level and skill.
