Cathedral Mountain In the north shore 1740m approach from Lynn valley.
I've tried to summit last year but we ran out of time. The approach is pretty long and we would most likely have to camp at mt Burwell or in best case scenario half way up Cathedral were there's a plateau.
The hike starts from Lynn headwater and goes flat till almost reaching north van falls. After that it gets pretty steep till the summit of Coliseum. From Coliseum to Burwell its easy hiking, after reaching Burwell to get on Cathedral there's a 300m elevation loss to reach the pass and than a 550m climb to the top. To get to the top there's a ridge that depending on snow conditions could be a bit technical so I'll bring a rope.
Trip is snow conditions dependent more than weather dependent and it will most likely be done in two days in stead of three.
Minimal gear
Temps could go as low as -15 in the night. But while moving during the day shouldn't be bad at all.
Personal Camping equipment (I have a 2p tent and can share)
cookware and food (for 2/2.5 days
Harness,belay device for 8milll rope
axe,crampons
snowshoes if you want.
Heavy backpacking boots or mountaineering boots. ( flip flops ok if they fit your crampons!)
Gloves and your preferred clothing system.
Headlamp!!
avalanche kit (probe shovel beacon)
few snow pickets and maybe ice screws if you have
I will carry 30m rope 2 pickets, Gps, Spot, small First aid, a 2p tent and a stove.
Trip might change dates due to avalanche/weather .
In the mean time ...
Happy holidays..
