Ski touring in the Cerise Ck area off the Duffey Lake Road.

Plan will be to leave about 6pm on Friday evening, skin under headtorch to Keith's hut, or car camp (depending on conditions and group energy).

We will do laps of the many ski routes in the area (Vantage Ridge, Cerise Ck areas etc.).  See page 134 to 136 of the Baldwin Book for a brief summary, and the Duffey Lake Baldwin map. 

The forecast is not looking fantastic this week with a warming event over the next three days followed by hopefully lower temperatures and some low snow of Friday.  This trip will be cancelled if the conditions aren't expected to be any good.

ALL participants MUST have the following equipment:

Beacon, Probe & Shovel

AST-1 or higher training

AT/telemark ski or splitboard setup (including skins)

Headlamp (we may take a couple of tents in case the hut is full).

Appropriate clothing for being out in the elements all day

Enough food and water to remain on the move for most of the day.   Food for two days.

(trip organizer will carry the following items: first aid kit, GPS/Compass/Map)

This will involve a long day, with the potential for some objective dangers. Trip will only "go" with decent snow expected.

Please consider NOT seeking to this trip unless you have conducted your own research into the route, and compared that with your own experience, fitness level and skill.
