I did this one back in the summer and it's really nice, nothing difficult except a moderately steep section for the first hour/hour and a half but once in the alpine it's very easy going with great views. The forecast in the area has been cold and wet for the past few weeks so I'm expecting snow in the alpine (hence the Snowshoes). That being said there could be no snow at all so wear Hiking Boots.
Optional summit of Needle Peak (easy scramble) from the West side depending on snow conditions. On a clear day you get pretty good views of the Cascades to the South and other mountains to the West.
Leaving North Vancouver at 8am. I'll have room for 4 others in the car. I'm happy to pick people up along the way from Abbotsford/Chilliwak. For those in Vancouver it may be best to make your way to Braid Station and I can pick up from there. Message me if you want to car share and we can work it out.
I'm aiming to start the hike from the parking area just off the Coquihalla Highway #5 (J 217) at 10am, and hopefully back down by 4pm.
The forecast at the moment for the beginning of the week is looking good but bring warm clothes and wet weather gear just in case. Waterproof boots/gaiters recommended.
